The Broderie Perse Panel Coverlet (c.1825-1850) is a hand-pieced printed cottons patchwork top featuring both dress and funishing prints in nine frames of varying widths, made from octagons, triangles and squares on point. In the centre is a Broderie Perse panel, with floral and bird motifs applued on the backing fabric and decorated around the edge with blanket stitch. The cut out sections at the bottom of the coverlet suggest it was intended for use on a four poster bed.
